Hey folks, I didn't see this posted anywhere else on the site, but new details have been released for this year's TAM. For those unfamiliar with the event, it's put on by the
James Randi Educational Foundation, and takes place in Las Vegas. The JREF exists to debunk supernatural, paranormal, and otherwise pseudoscientific claims and offers a $1 million prize for anyone who can demonstrate paranormal abilities. Here is the updated info page:
http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/component/content/article/37-static/449-the-amazing-meeting-7-events.html It takes place July 9-12 this year.
From the site: "The Amaz!ng Meeting is a celebration of critical thinking and skepticism sponsored by the James Randi Educational Foundation. Thinking people travel the world to share learning, laughs and life with fellow skeptics and distinguished guest speakers." "This year, our keynote speaker is Bill Prady, the executive producer of the hit TV show The Big Bang Theory. We also have Randi, of course, as well as JREF President Phil Plait, science writer Jennifer Ouellette, paranormal investigator Joe Nickell, The Skeptic Society's Michael Shermer, and a passel of other great speakers."
I'm thinking we ought to start planning our airfare and such pretty soon. This will be my first, but I've only heard good things from the people who've gone before!
