The first Political Action Committee for Secular Humanists, Atheists, Agnostics, and Freethinkers launches a new website and has a new name.  The Godless Americans Political Action Committee is now EnlightenTheVote.com.  Enlightenthevote.com is the Emily's List for Atheist and secular political candidates.

Barrett Brown, EVs Communication Director, says that according to Time, 55 million Americans describe themselves as not religious and EV is intended to turn those voters into a voting bloc that is as influential as the religious right.

Enlighten the Vote is a non-partisan political action committee.  According to Ellen Johnson, the Executive Director of Enlightenthevote.com, "Though we primarily endorse and donate to Atheist candidates, we also support secularists who advocate for clear Constitutional restrictions on themanner in which church and state interact regardless of party."

Here is the group's description:

A Political Action Committee for the protection of the First Amendment Establishment Clause from Government intrusion.
